Memorial Day Message from JD Escobar, President of the Nevada Enlisted Association of the National Guard, United States
On this Memorial Day, we pause as a nation to honor and remember the brave men and women who have given their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the foundation of the freedoms we enjoy each day, and their courage remains a guiding light for all of us who wear the uniform.
Here in Nevada and across the country, we stand united in gratitude for those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We remember not only the heroes we’ve lost in battle, but also the families they left behind—their strength and resilience inspire us daily.
As members of the National Guard and the broader military family, it is our solemn duty to carry forward their legacy. Let us use this day not only to reflect, but also to recommit ourselves to the values they fought to defend: freedom, duty, and unity.
May we never forget their sacrifice, and may we strive every day to be worthy of their memory.
